PITTSFIELD — The Pittsfield boys held on in the fourth quarter to defeat Hoosac Valley.
Pittsfield (6-6, 2-1 Berkshire North) led 31-26 going into the fourth and had to withstand nine of Vance Eugene's 11 points in the final eight minutes to get the win.
Hoosac falls to 8-7 and 1-3.
For PHS, Edwin Rodriguez had 13 points and Joe Cracolici had eight. Elton Wilkins scored all five of his points in the fourth quarter to help seal the win, including going 3 for 3 at the free-throw line. Of Rodriguez's 13, he went 6 for 6 from the free-throw line.
Izaha Stubbs led all scorers with 16 for Hoosac. 14 of his 16 came in the second half.
"Great game all around by both teams," PHS coach Brandon Mauer wrote in an email. "Kymani Harley hit two threes in the final minute, one with 15 seconds left to put PHS up 2, forcing Stubbs into a tough contested 3 that didn't go at the buzzer. Stubbs played a good game and hit tough shots down the stretch to bring Hoosac back and eventually take us over in the fourth quarter."
