CHESHIRE –  Those clad in Wahconah blue emerged from a sea of red, descending on their team. Teary-eyed adults looked for others to hug. Players found each other, then their family, embracing one and other. They savored the moment, for moments like these don’t come very often.

For the first time in more than half a decade, a girls basketball team beat five-time defending Western Massachusetts Division III champion Hoosac Valley in the postseason.
