CHESHIRE — The Wahconah boys basketball team ended the regular season on a high note, recording a 56-42 win over Hoosac Valley in Cheshire.
Wahconah finishes up at 15-5 overall and 5-3 in the Berkshire North, while Hoosac finishes at 10-10 and 2-6. Both teams have qualified for the Western Massachusetts Division III tournament.
Kevin Huban followed up a 33-point performance against Pittsfield on Monday, with another 33 against the Hurricanes. Huban went 15 for 24 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to help see out the win. As a team, Wahconah went 20 for 38 at the line in the contest.
Tom O'Connor added 12 in the victory.
Izaha Stubbs scored 30 in the loss, including 19 in the second half.
"A tough week of practice after tonight's game will be exactly what's needed in preparation for Western Mass next week," Hoosac coach Ben Raimer wrote in an email. "As we will not receive a home game, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the fans, students, and broader community of Adams and Cheshire for the support the team has received at home games this season."
The tournament seeding meeting is set for Saturday.
