PITTSFIELD — Depth won out on Monday night, as the Hoosac Valley girls wore down Taconic in the second half to pull away in a 62-33 win.

It was a three-point game at halftime, after Taconic's Ahna Balcom hit twice from downtown and scored eight of her team's 12 second quarter points.

But the Hurricanes (13-4) proved too much after exiting the locker room. Abby Scialabba scored 13 of her game-high 15 points in the second half, hitting three 3-pointers in the process. Meanwhile, Ashlyn Lesure similarly had just two points at the half before exploding for nine in the fourth quarter and 14 in the game. She was 6 of 8 from the foul line after halftime. Gabby Billetz chipped in 10 points, while Hannah Shea had nine.

Balcom finished with 10 points, while teammate Brenna McNeice scored a team-high 11. She was 7 of 9 from the foul line. Taconic (5-12) scored just seven points in each of the final two quarters.
